Fight Hunger at Monday's Farmers Market, West Hollywood: Food Forward’s mission is to reconnect the community with the abundance of food present in our everyday lives, while creating change around issues of urban hunger, food waste and food justice.
Volunteers Role and Responsibilities: Volunteer Glean Teams distribute empty boxes to the farmers and then collect the filled boxes of unsold fresh produce. The volunteers weigh the donations and immediately distribute to local agencies.
Requirements: : After expressing interest in this volunteer opportunity, you will receive an email from volunteer@foodforward.org with a link to complete our volunteer waiver. You must complete this final step to confirm your attendance at this event.
Benefit: Learn about food justice, meet new friends, shop at the market, get marketing and community engagement experience, and get some fresh air!

Help support LA's Homeless Community, Santa Monica and Downtown: The People Concern, the new name for the unified efforts of Lamp and OPCC, continues to be one of LA’s most valuable resources in helping the homeless, including victims of domestic abuse, veterans, people with mental illness and LGBTQ youth.
Requirements: To participate you must complete a mandatory 40-hour training program held in the fall or spring. Volunteers help out in crisis intervention, peer counseling, and empowerment playgroups for children. Sojourn relies on volunteers for everything from 24-hour hotlines, transportation, translation, clerical work, donation sorting, and a horticultural therapy program. If you have the time to commit and a goal to help women in need, Sojourn is the place for you.
