Duties and Responsibilities: work with people with a range of physical problems, like asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure or back pain. Also help people with emotional issues like stress, anxiety, or depression. Tailor the yoga to a patient’s specific situation, with the aim of helping ease the symptoms and preventing further problems.
Salary:Salary and Outlook. Yoga therapists make a median wage of $40,970, while those in the top 10 percent of the salary range earn $70,180, according to 2105 data from the BLS for fitness trainers. Those in the lowest 10 percent earn $18,690.
Education:Completing a specialized training or certificate program is required to teach yoga. Teacher-training programs can last anywhere from a few weeks to over two years, depending on the style of yoga and the rigor of the coursework. They are all physically demanding and require some personal yoga experience. For example, the Iyengar style requires certification after training and one year's experience. Prospective yoga teachers select training programs offering the style they would like to teach.
Demand or need for this profession:Yoga instructors may look for employment in general fitness centers, yoga studios, or seek their own clients through self-employment. As of 2015, the job outlook for fitness trainers, including yoga instructors, was good; the BLS predicted that yoga use in America will continue to increase, especially for seniors requiring low-impact exercise.
Reflection: This is a good profession but i wouldn't like to become one. I am not interested on this career. This career doesn't grab my attention. I don't think i would be happy doing this all my life. I wouldnt like to become a yoga therapist.
